With 26 years on the water and a school of his own, Gonzalo has shaped kayaking culture across Chile's staggering range of waterways. A climber, biker, and Leave No Trace educator on top of his ACA Level 4 credentials, he teaches more than technique, he teaches how to move through the world responsibly.
26 Years on the Water, and Counting
Gonzalo Rubina has been reading the sea for 26 years. Based in Chile and the founder of Escuela de Kayak, he has spent more than a decade running high-level courses across the country's extraordinary range of waterways from the Pacific coast to the glacial lakes and rivers of Patagonia.
But Gonzalo isn't just a kayaker. He's a mountain biker, a climber, and a skier, a complete outdoorsman for whom the sea is one chapter of a much larger story. Certified at ACA Level 4 in both open water coastal kayaking and trip leadership, and trained as a Leave No Trace Educator through NAZSAR in the United States, Gonzalo combines elite technical skill with a deep respect for wild places. His students don't just learn to paddle they learn to move through the world responsibly.
