Along Japan's Miura Peninsula, Tomoaki has turned 70 km of wild coastline into his classroom. As founder of JRCA Kayak School, he meets every paddler where they are — from first-timers to instructor candidates. His goal is simple: help you reach yours, safely and with a smile.
Nestled between the rugged reefs and calm coves of Japan's Miura Peninsula, Tomoaki Takahashi has built something rare: a place where the sea teaches. As the founder of the JRCA Kayak School – Let's Go Kayakers – Tomoaki leads small groups through one of Japan's most diverse coastal fields, a 70 km stretch of coastline that shifts from sheltered bays to raw open-sea swells.
His approach is simple but powerful, meet every paddler where they are. Whether it's someone touching a paddle for the very first time or an experienced kayaker working toward instructor certification, Tomoaki tailors every session to the individual. Certified as both a Sea Senior Instructor and an assistant for the prestigious Sea Master Certification, he brings professional rigor to every experience without ever losing the joy that brought him to the water in the first place.
"What is your goal in kayaking? I'd love to help you get there, safely, and with a smile."
