The Viper is Segla Gear's full-carbon Greenland paddle for paddlers who want maximum performance without compromise. Built from Toray T700 Carbon Fiber in a 12K+6K Hybrid Weave, it combines the structural rigidity of a high-modulus carbon layup with the refined feel of a traditional Greenland blade. At 720 g, it sits between the Narwhal and the Ikigai in weight — but its full-carbon construction gives it a distinctly stiffer, more responsive character.

Blade Shape & Feel

The Viper shares the same shoulderless, straight-shaft geometry as the Narwhal — no hard transition between shaft and blade, just a smooth, continuous taper that allows your hands to slide freely along the loom. The blade is 780 cm², with dimensions of 49 mm at the root, 79 mm at mid-blade, and 89 mm at the tip. This profile delivers a progressive, controlled catch with excellent tracking through the power phase. The 12K+6K Hybrid Weave carbon layup gives the blade a stiffer feel than fibreglass-reinforced alternatives, translating more of your stroke energy directly into forward motion — particularly noticeable in sprint efforts, tidal races, and technical conditions.

Length & Sizing

Available in 220 cm. The shoulderless design means your hands can position freely along the loom, which gives some flexibility in effective length — sliding your grip outward effectively shortens the active blade length for rolling, while a fixed grip further out increases leverage for touring. As a starting point, 220 cm suits paddlers of roughly 165–185 cm using a low-angle Greenland stroke. The 29 mm shaft and Phantom Push Connection allow quick on-water feathering changes.
